How to Make a Crimped Pie Crust
Roll out dough on a well-floured surface.
Roll it out at least two inches bigger than the size of your pie plate.
Gather the dough back on to your rolling pin, brushing off any excess flour with a pastry brush.
Unroll it directly on to the pie plate.
Press it into the bottom and up the sides, and then tuck under any excess dough to form an edge.
Now it's time to crimp. One method is to use the tip of your thumb to push the dough.
Here is a second method, using the side of your thumb, to make larger indentations.
Here is a third method, using the tip of your finger to make smaller crimps.
Or you could manually make crimps by twisting the dough. Choose the whatever method works for you!
