How To Make Brown Butter

Melt butter over medium heat, in a saucepan with high sides

It will start to foam and form large bubbles

As the foam subsides, it will start to bubble more evenly

And then furiously and make a chirping sound

The noise will slowly subside and the foam will start covering the surface again

Be careful because the butter is browning below the bubbles!

Pour into a shallow bowl and let cool down

I keep it in the fridge for a week and use it in recipes that call for softened butter
