How To Make Butter Tarts
Prep ingredients.

Mix 2/3 cup brown sugar with 1/4 cup melted butter.

Add 1/3 cup maple syrup, 1 tsp. vanilla extract and 1 tsp. apple cider vinegar.

Mix well and reserve. Preheat oven to 425F.

Pastry: combine 1 1/2 cups flour with a pinch of salt, 1/2 cup melted butter, 1/4 cup cold water, 1 egg yolk and 1 tsp. white vinegar. Knead.

On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough out.

Cut out 9 circles with a 4” round cutter.

Place the dough discs in a greased muffin pan.

Push the dough slightly up the edges.

Divide 1/3 cup raisins evenly into the tarts.

Add the brown sugar mixture to each tart evenly.

Bake for about 15 mins. or until filling is set.

Let the butter tarts cool on a rack.
