Add 8 ounces room temperature cream cheese and 2 tablespoons softened butter to a bowl or mixer and beat until smooth. About 1 minute.

Add 7 cups sifted powdered sugar (to get out the lumps!) And mix on low speed until smooth. About 3 minutes.

Add peppermint extract to taste. I used about a teaspoon. You could also use orange or vanilla extract too! Mix again to combine.

Your mixture should be firm enough to hold its shape. It's basically cream cheese frosting!

Divide the mixture between bowls and tint as many colors as you want. I use natural colors. Try to use a thick gel color so you don't thin your mix.

Transfer to a piping bag with a star tip or a ziploc bag with the corner snipped off and pipe bite size swirls on a parchment lined baking sheet.

Air dry in a cool spot 1 to 2 days until firm enough to handle. Store in the fridge in an air tight container up to 2 weeks.
