How To Make Homemade Grass-fed Butter
Take a 16 oz mason jar.

Fill it with 1 pint grass-fed heavy cream that has been sitting at room temperature for 1-2 hours.

Sprinkle with salt if making salted butter. Replace lid tightly.

Shake. Shake. Shake....for a few minutes until mixture thickens.

Now you have made whipped cream!

...until the liquid has separated from the solid.

Strain out the buttermilk.

You are left behind butter! Add it to a bowl and pour 1/2 cup of water to the butter to rinse it.

Using a butter paddle or a knife, try to squeeze the excess buttermilk out of the butter.

Storage in a butter dish or mold into a block and wrap in parchment or wax paper.
