Preheat a large skillet to medium high. Add 1 pound of ground beef and smash with a meat masher or wood spoon.
Continue to break apart the meat until it’s in very small crumbles.
Continue to cook the meat until all of the moisture has cooked off and the meat carmelizes. Add 1 cup of water and stir to deglaze the pan.
Next, add 1/3 cup of your preferred taco seasoning and stir well to combine.
Reduce the heat to medium low. Simmer the meat on a low bubble for 15-20 minutes.
After is has cooked for 15-20 minutes, the water will have reduced and you’ll have perfect taco meat.
