How To Make Sushi At Home
Start by making your sushi rice. Refer to sushi rice video.

Prep your filling ingredients.

Julienne the cucumber by first slicing in 3 inch pieces. Then slice 1/8 inch thick planks. Then cut the planks into 1/8 inch slices.

Follow the same technique for the carrots.

Cook the shrimp tempura according to package directions.

Prep the crab filling by adding 2 (12 ounce) packages imitation crab to a mixing bowl.

Break the imitation crab into small pieces.

Add 1/2 cup mayonnaise and 2 teaspoons sriracha if you want it spicy. Season with salt and mix to fully combine.

Prep any other fillings you would like to use in your rolls.

Wrap the sushi mat in plastic wrap.

Place the nori onto the mat. Grab about a baseball sized amount of rice and press into a single thin layer of rice.

Dip your hands in water as needed if the rice gets too sticky. Leave 1/2 inch of nori at the top.

Add your filling to the end of the sheet. Make sure you don’t overstuff the roll. Start by lifting the sheet over and pinch to seal. Continue rolling.

With a sharp knife cut the sushi in pieces. You can dip the tip of the knife in water to help.

For an inside out roll place the nori on the mat. Add your rice in a thin layer.

Sprinkle with sesame seed and then flip the sheet over so the rice is on the mat.

Place your fillings at the bottom.

Then proceed to tightly roll.

Dip the tip of the knife in water and let the water run down the blade after each cut.

To make a hand roll use either a half a sheet of nori or soy paper. Place a small amount of rice in a diagonal and top with fillings.

Take the corner and roll tightly into a cone.

Serve the sushi with soy sauce or spicy ponzu. To make spicy ponzu add 1/2 cup ponzu to a bowl with sriracha and a touch of sesame oil. Stir.
