This is the before. Glossy finish, layers of paints

I started sanding the piece with lowest grit to take off the glossy top coat and then with 220 grit

I hand sanded the whole piece and look how well it worked.

I wiped the piece clean,and painted it in two coats of Dixie Belle Slick Stick.

This is after two coats of slick stick, which is a primer for adhesion.

I painted the dresser in 3 coats of Dixie Belle dusty blue using my flat medium brush

After three coats of dusty blue, it looked like this.

I sanded the piece to a smooth finish with Dixie Belle sanding sponge

Finally sealed it in 2 coats of Dixie Belle top coat in satin using the blue sponge.

And here is the final piece with a smooth finish
