30 Minutes
Cut a cotton pad into ten small nail size pieces
1
Gently buff the shine off the topcoat w/ a file (skip this step if removing CND Shellac)
2
Cut out 10 small rectangular pieces of kitchen foil - aim for about the size of half a bank note
3
Saturate a piece of cotton with acetone then place it onto the middle of one of the foil rectangles
4
Lower your nail back onto the cotton, wrap the foil around your finger tightly & fold the top over
5
Finish wrapping all nails this way, then set a timer for at least 15-20 minutes
6
After 15 minutes or so, take one foil wrap off to see how far the acetone has worked through the gel
7
Use a cuticle pusher to GENTLY remove the top layer of crumbled gel, but rewrap if gel still sticks
8
Note : Do this one nail at a time (do not remove all foil wraps at once)
9
Allow more time for the acetone to soak through the gel if needed - do not force the gel off
10
Once most of the gel is removed take off any leftover bits with a pad soaked in acetone OR...
11
You can also VERY gently buff off any tiny leftover bits with a file
12
Lastly add a drop of cuticle oil to all nails to replenish moisture & hydrate skin
13
Note : Do NOT do this! (Aggresively try to force/dig the gel off with the cuticle pusher! )
14
And DO NOT pick off gel either. Both of these things will rip off nail layers & weaken your nails
15
Nails should still look healthy after gel removal - if they don’t come & see me for an IBX treatment
