How To Repot A Houseplant
Your new pot should be 1 to 2 inches larger in diameter than the original.
1
Cover the hole with a rock or pebble to prevent soil from running out when watering.
2
Add a base layer of soil to the bottom of the pot so the roots have room to grow. Pack down firmly.
3
Remove plant from old pot and tease roots to encourage new growth.
4
Place in the new pot making sure it’s centered and upright.
5
Add soil around the plant and pat it down.
6
Place on a plate and water slowly to help settle the soil.
7
Avoid direct sunlight and water frequently while your plant adjusts to it’s new home.
