To make your template: Draw a 2.5 in vertical line and a 6 in horizontal line
1
Make a mark at 1 7/8 in. Line up the ruler 2 7/8 in above the mark and draw a 6 5/8 in vertical line
2
Angle the ruler .5 in under the right line and at the left line. Draw a .5 in line on the left line.
3
Draw arches to connect the lines.
4
In the middle of the two points mark a dot 2 in from the middle line. Connect all the lines. Cut out
5
Cut 4 pieces total (place good sides together), 7 in wire (edges curled), and 11 in 1/4 in elastic
6
Sew the rounded edge with a 1/4 in seam allowance. Sew both pieces.
7
Cut notches on both pieces.
8
Turn the back piece right side out. Pin elastic .5 in from the arched top on the sides.
9
Pin the mask good sides together leaving a 2.5 in opening at the bottom of the mask
10
Leaving a 2.5 in opening, sew around the mask. Do a zigzag stitch over the elastic and go over it 4x
11
Zigzag stitch over elastic with a 1/4 in seam allowance.
12
Line wire up with the seam at the top of the mask. Zigzag stitch onto the mask. (Go slow!)
13
Fold the opening seam inward and pin.
15
Zigzag stitch all around the mask going over the elastic repeatedly. Stitch closely to the edges.
16
When you reach the wire, sew with the wire close to the machine’s foot.
17
Now you’re done! Shape the wire to your nose & cheekbones & pull bottom corners towards your ears.
