Cut your template

Add confectioners sugar to your surface

Roll out your fondant to the size required

Now lay your template and begin to outline/cut with a sharp knife.

Remove the extra fondant !

Place on the cake, mix a tiny bit of alcohol & edible gold powder and colour the top of the fondant

This gives it a type of “jumping out” effect
