A quick train ride from Florence will get you to Pisa and it’s famous Leaning Tower
1
To get to the Tower you’ll have to cross the River Arno. The architecture is surprisingly beautiful
2
Then pass through the Piazza dei Cavalieri, Knights’ Square, the political centre in medieval Pisa
3
It features a statue of Cosimo I de Medici, sitting in front of Palazzo della Carovana
4
Keep walking until you see the monumental complex in the Cathedral Square
5
The Leaning Tower owes its nickname to the nearly 4-degree lean due to its unstable foundation
6
The complex features the 14th century Baptistery of St. John
7
As grasping the size is impossible in a photo, here’s me for reference :)
8
From the copula of the Baptistery you get a beautiful view of the façade of the Duomo di Pisa
9
Last stop is the Leaning Tower itself. Book tickets ahead to be able to climb it!
10
The panoramic views from the top are breathtaking, well worth the 296-step climb!
