Temescal Alleys are filled with Instagrammable shops and cafes owned and run by local artisans.
My favorites shops include Dopp City, Marisa Mason, and Esqueleto.
The Grand Lake Theatre is another historic movie theater in Oakland perfect for photoshoots.
Brother & Sister Flower Shop started as a pop-up in Oakland before find their permanant location on Grand Avenue.
The entire shop looks like an upscale desert secret garden!
Daughter Thai is famous on Instagram for their purple flowery entrance, but the inside is just as beautiful.
If you stay for a meal, I reccommend the Thai fried rice, Pad Kee Mow, Thai iced tea, and Thai iced coffee!
The Gardens at Lake Merritt encompasses 7 acres of smaller gardens with different themes. Admission is free, and my favorite was the Palm Garden.
