Instant Pot Swiss Steak
Add olive oil to pot and use Sauté function to heat it.

Cut round steak into strips and put some flour in a shallow dish.

Dredge the beef in the flour.

Add to the hot oil and brown on one side for a couple of minutes.

Flip the pieces so the other side can brown for a couple of minutes.

Remove beef to a plate.

See all those browned bits? We have to scrape them up so we don’t get the BURN error during pressure cooking.
Add 1 cup of beef broth to the hot pot and use a spatula to deglaze the pot and scrape up the browned bits.

Be sure to scrape up as much as possible!
Return the beef to the pot.

Add in a chopped sweet onion and a chopped red bell pepper.

Add 3/4 cup crushed tomatoes, 1 tsp salt, 3/4 tsp pepper, 2 tsp garlic powder, and 1/2 tsp paprika.

Add in 1 TBSP Worcestershire sauce and stir to combine.

Close lid and set vent to sealed position. Pressure cook for 30 minutes at high pressure.

Allow an natural release of pressure, then carefully remove lid.

Stir in a slurry of 1 TBSP cornstarch mixed with 1 TBSP water.

Serve over mashed potatoes or noodles.
