Goodwill find. Jewelry box. Needs some repair.
1
Clean well with White Lightning.
2
Missing hooks and bar on the inside. Let’s make some resin moulds and repair the area.
3
I like this style of quick set resin. It’s easy to use and cures quickly.
4
Pour equal sides of resin side “A” and side “B” into small cups.
5
Pour both sides into a cup and mix for 30 seconds.
6
Pour mixture into moulds. These silicone moulds are from a baking mould. Cute birds and flowers.
7
Silicone moulds can be found on Amazon or in the baking section at the craft store. Dries in 10 min
8
Glue to the area with the missing wood. Insert new hooks. These flowers will be painted gold.
9
Apply the resin moulds to the front of the box with wood glue.
10
Colors for this project, Aubergine, Lucky Lavender and Tea Rose.
11
Cover all the wood area. Initial coats are not blended. I blend the colors on the second coat.
12
Use a spray misting bottle with water and separate brushes to ombré the colors together.
13
Moonshine Metallics in Gold Digger to cover the added flowers.
14
Lavender Fields transfer cut up into smaller sections to add detail to the piece.
15
The transfers are applied with a small wood tool. Burnish down directly on the surface.
16
Small flowers for the drawers.
17
Warm gold gilding wax applied with a small brush to the taped off sides to add stripes.
18
Remove taped off areas.
19
Apply the gilding wax to the edges to add shine.
20
Seal with clear coat.
21
The repair added some amazing detail!
22
