Keeping Strawberries Fresher Longer
Sometimes it seems strawberries go “bad” quickly. Here’s how to keep them longer.
1
You’ll need a large bowl, measuring cup and a colander (or steamer basket on a pinch😉)
2
Add 10 parts water to 1 part vinegar (I did 30 oz. water and 3 oz. vinegar)
3
Put your strawberries in the solution. Let them “swim” for 2 minutes.
4
Remove strawberries to a colander or steamer basket. A paper towel underneath keeps things tidy.
5
Rinse with cold water. (They will not taste like vinegar, I promise)
6
Use a stackable cooling rack (or 2) to spread berries out. Allow to dry.
7
Eat or store covered in the refrigerator. You can clean the original container & reuse it😀
8
Why it works: the vinegar gets rid of bacteria & mold spores. That’s “berry” good for you! 🥰🍓
