Kumihimo Cord Friendship Bracelet
Trace a circle (about 4” diameter) onto cardboard, then divide into 8 sections
1
Cut out the circle
2
Cut about a half inch into each line
3
Poke a hole in the center. You can use an awl or small hole punch. I very carefully used scissors.
4
Cut 7 strands of embroidery floss a little less than one arm’s length, tie one end in a knot
5
Pull the knot through the circle. You can thread one strand first then pull the knot through
6
Put one strand in each slit, leaving one empty
7
With the open space facing you count 3 strands to the left. Move that 3rd strand to the open space.
8
Repeat that step many times, detangling as you go. You’ll start to see the cord in the back.
9
Keep going until the cord is as long as you need
10
Remove cord from the cardboard. Tie end in a knot or tie right on your wrist! Cut off extra floss.
