Learn Brickstich - Demo with Large Beads
Check out my supply video to see what you'll need for seed bead brick stitching.
Start by stringing four beads onto your thread.
1
Take your needle back up through the last two beads, a square will form when you tighten them.
2
Finish the square by taking your needle back down through the outside set of beads.
3
Add two beads to your thread and go back down through the outside set of beads, and up through the new set of beads.
4
Here it is in slow motion.
Continue until you add your last set of beads.
5
To add beads to the remaining rows we are going to be using these "bridges" of thread linking the sets of beads from the row below.
Start every row stringing two sets of beads. In this case, four beads.
6
Thread your needle under the second bridge from the row below.
7
Now thread your needle back up through the second set of beads.
8
To tighten up the first two sets go back down through the outermost set and back up through the inner set.
9
Add two beads to your needle and thread it under the next bridge from the row below.
10
Continue adding sets of two by going under each bridge and back up through the set of beads you just added.
11
Start the next row, again, with two sets of beads (four beads) and threading under the second bridge.
12
Dont forget to square up your first two sets by going back through them.
Finish your pyramid by adding the last four beads and threading all the way down the opposite pyramid side.
