Magic Ring
30 STEPS
No more confusion. Step by step tutorial.
1
Let’s start! Put your yarn over your index finger
2
Bring it down
3
And under it
4
So you have it wrapped once
5
This is what you’ll work from. The foundation of your magic ring.
6
Stick your hook under the loop over your finger and
7
Yarn over
8
Pull up the loop
10
Yarn over
11
And pull up. This is considered the first stitch, but as it’s often really tight, I don’t count it.
12
This also helps close the hole in the middle. You can do without it but I like how it ends up
13
You can do it!
14
Here’s the single crochet (sc) in slow motion
16
Work 6 more stitches the same way. Each of these is a single crochet stitch
17
Take the center end out of the magic ring and pull to close
18
You secure your magic ring with the first stitch of the next row. Another single crochet
19
Got it? Let’s see it again
20
Really slow
21
Single crochet
22
2nd single crochet
23
Finishing 2nd single crochet. Continue like this for 7 sc. Remember you won’t work on the 1st one
24
Now you have 6 sc (7 if you count the first one, but again, I don’t)
25
Pull on the center - you can also pull it without taking it out of the mr, it’s preference so try it
26
both ways so you can choose which one you like best
27
This is how I hold my yarn for the tension I need for Amigurumi. It’s okay if you hold it different
28
Count 6 stitches from your hook, so you don’t get confused with that first stitch
29
And voilá! You can now make the magic ring

Thank you!
