Make A 3D Fabric Face Mask In Under 10 Minutes
You need: two 9.5” x 8.5” pieces 100% cotton fabric & two adjustable elastic pieces. Tools: sewing clips, fabric marking pencil, and a ruler.
1
Place the fabric right sides together and clip to prepare for sewing.
2
Use a 1/4” seam allowance and sew around all four sides. Make sure to leave a hole for turning it right sides out.
3
Trim the extra thread, and the little bits of extra fabric at the corners. Turn the rectangle rights sides out. Firmly press out all the corners.
4
Finger press each edge to help it lay flat then top stitch using 1/8” allowance.
5
Use the marking pencil to make sewing guidelines for the 3D shape. This involves making folds & creases to mark the correct angles.
6
Construct the mask shape by sewing over each marked guideline.
7
Prepare elastic for sewing.
8
Use 1/4” seam allowance to sew elastic to the fabric. Back stitch over each elastic end to make it extra strong.
9
Now you have a pattern for a quickie 3D mask that adjustable and reversible!
