Make A Face Mask With No Pleats
Cut front and back fabric pieces sized 7.5” x 10”. Download & cut out face mask pattern.
1
Use pattern to cut top curve of two mask pieces for front & back. Do not trim the bottom edge.
2
Using 1/4” seam allowance sew down center of both fabric pieces.
3
Cut open the fabric to open the seam allowance for both pieces.
4
This is what it should look like once cut.
5
Finger press open the seam. This helps it lay flatter on the face.
6
Place fabrics right sides together and pin or clip.
7
Sew around the whole mask using 1/4” seam allowance. Leave 2” hole for turning right side out.
8
Turn the mask right sides out. Now you see the pretty side of the fabric!
9
Top stitch the whole mask.
10
Mark 3/4” from top left & right corners then fold nose bridge toward inside.
11
Clip/pin 1.5” on either side of center seam. Total of 3” should not be seen down.
12
Sew toward center using 1/4” seam & stop at each of clip. This is nose bridge view once sewn.
13
Fold over each side edge 3/4” toward inside & clip.
14
Thread each side of mask with continuous tie or elastic then reposition clips.
15
Zigzag or straight stitch the edge with 1/4” seam of channel down to main part of the mask.
16
View of the back side of the mask with the nose bridge fold it down.
17
