Make Your First Amigurumi!
Start with a magic ring... An unknotted circle you crochet in to.
1
Most amigurumi patterns start with 6 or 8 stitches in a magic ring. I'm starting with 6.
2
Now pull the ring tight!! So satisfying!
3
Can I get that in a slow-mo? πŸ¦₯
4
Amigurumi is crocheted in the round... So no need to join your rows or turn your work!
5
The basic amigurmui shape is a ball. To make a ball, crochet twice (2SC) in each of the starting 6 stitches. Now you have 12 stitches!
6
Keep adding 6 stitches every time you go around. This time I will do 2SC, followed by 1SC all the way around. I'll have 18 total stitches.
7
To make a perfect sphere, I am going to crochet 3 times around now. Just singles, no doubles.
8
Time to close your circle. I want to decrease evenly by 6 each time around. I will do 1SC, and then crochet the next two together Sc2Tog.
9
Let's do that the whole way around. There will be 12 stitches left.
10
Next, Sc2Tog the whole way around. You'll end up with the original 6 stitches you started with!
11
Congratulations πŸ₯³ you've made your first amigurumi!!! Stuff your ball and sew it closed!
