Making Royal Icing & Our Simple Technique for Using It
Put 2 lb powdered sugar and 5 T meringue powder in mixer.

Mix on low until combined.

Add 1/2 tsp vanilla mixed with 1/4 cup warm water.

Continue adding water a teaspoon or two at a time until the mixture is the consistency of honey.

Beat on high until stiff peaks form.

Divide icing into several bowls for coloring.

Add water a drop or two at a time until you reach desired consistency.

We like using this medium consistency for easy decorating. Load into condiment bottles when ready.
