Maple Sugar Cookies
In one bowl, whisk to combine dry ingredients
1
In another bowl, beat to combine butter and brown sugar
2
It may take a few minutes for it to come together, but be patient!
3
Add egg and extracts, and beat again to combine
4
Add flour mixture ~ 1 cup at a time and beat to combine after each addition
5
It will take a bit for it to come together - this isn't it yet, keep going!
6
Form a ball with the dough and place it on a lightly floured surface
8
Roll the dough to a uniform 1/4" thickness
9
Use cookie cutter of choice to cut out your shapes (ideally, a maple leaf shape!)
10
Bake at 350⁰F for 8 minutes
11
You want them to be set, and not yet golden around the edges
12
While the cookie cool, mix sifted powered sugar and maple syrup in a small bowl
13
Whisk until it's smooth and thick - but still easy to drizzle
14
Coat your cooled cookies with your maple icing
15
Let them hang out so the icing can set
16
Now you have delicious maple cookies :) Get the recipe on stressbaking.com!
