Get your ingredients ready

Cream butter and sugar until pale and fluffy

Add eggs one by one, beating well after adding each egg

Then add the flour (flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt)

Beat well until all the flour is incorporated. Then add milk. This is vanilla cake batter

Remove about 3/4 cup of batter add cocoa powder and 1/4 cup of hot water or milk.

Whisk and set aside

Start layering first add some vanilla cake batter then add scoops of chocolate batter

Then scoop some more vanilla cake batter

Use a skewer to swirl. Tap to release any air bubbles. Bake @ 170/340 for about 45 mins

Cool completely before slicing
