What you need to make sahlab

Combine the cold milk and cornstarch by whisking thoroughly

Place pot on medium low heat and keep whisking

Add the sugar and mastic gum if using and whisk

Add the cinnamon stick and continue to whisk until consistency thickens, 8-10 min
