Monte Cristo Paninis
French Toast: 5 Eggs, 1 cup of milk, 1 tsp vanilla, 2 TBS sugar, dash of cinnamon, 2 TBS butter, divided, for griddle, Ciabatta rolls.
Mix ingredients except butter. Whisk until combined. Pre-heat Deluxe Electric Grill & Griddle on Griddle setting and set time to 7 minutes.
When "Add" pops up, open fully and melt one TBS of butter on each side.
Dip Ciabotta rolls in the custard, then place on hot griddle plates.
Aren't they pretty? (Don't worry about cooking the outside for more than 30 sec., as we'll be using the grill plates to turn the rolls into paninis)
Swiss cheese slices on the bottom half of the roll, top with ham, then spread your favorite jam on inside of top half (I used cherry lavender...yum!)
Change to Grill plates and pre-heat DEGG on Panini setting.
When "Add" pops up, add assembled sandwiches and set timer to 2 min. 30 sec., adding 30 seconds at a time if needed at the end.
Top with a sprinkle of powdered sugar if desired. Enjoy! πŸ˜‹
