Smith Falls State Park
This state park is located near Valentine, NE near the border with South Dakota. Visitors can camp, hike, and relax in the day use area .
It is home to the tallest waterfall in Nebraska. Admission is $4/vehicle and annual passes are $31 for state residents and $46 for non-residents
Scotts Bluff National Monument
Located in Gering, NE, this was once a landmark for pioneers. There are 4 miles of trails to hike and a visitors center.
There is no entry fee. In warmer months visitors can also explore the Summit Road which takes drivers to the top of Scotts Bluff.
Toadstool Geologic Park
This park is located in the Oglala National Grassland near Harrison, NE. Visitors can hike or camp. There is a $3 day use fee.
Chadron State Park
Located in Chadron, NE this state park also requires an entrance fee. Nestled in the Pine Ridge, the roads and trails offer spectacular views.
Halsey National Forest
Located in Halsey,NE this is the largest hand planted forest in the world. Visitors can ride ATV trails, hike, fish, and camp. There is no entry fee.
