Atomic Testing Museum
Located a short drive from the strip, this museum tells the history of the nuclear weapons testing program in Nevada and its role in history.
The museum costs $22/adult. While the price is on the high end, the exhibits are worth it. The museum is a Smithsonian affiliate and is one of a kind.
Ethel M. Chocolates
Founded by Forrest Mars Sr, of Mars candy (think Twix), this company specializes in gourmet chocolates. Visitors can tour their factory in Henderson.
Chocolate lovers can purchase candy bars, chocolate covered nuts, individual chocolates and more. Make sure to save time for the botanical garden!
The Hoover Dam
A quick 40 minute drive through the desert takes you to this artchitectural wonder. There is a free parking garage on site.
Visitors can walk across the top of the dam for free. Or, there are 3 tours ranging from $10-$30. This art deco masterpiece is worth the visit.
The Grand Canyon
The drive from Las Vegas to the west rim of the Grand Canyon takes about 2.5 hours. The land is owned by thr Hulapai Indian Tribe and tickets are $45.
Ticket price includes a meal, shuttle transport, a walk across the famous glass bridge, and breathtaking views.
Fremont Street
The original strip, Fremont Street blends old Vegas with new. Casinos and stores line the streets. The ceiling is a giant LED screen!
