My Favourite Spots On A Big Sur Roadtrip
I started in Santa Barbara and loved visiting the Old Mission and wandering the city streets
Pismo Beach is full of character and a great place to get a clam chowder by the beach
Avila Valley Barn was a cute stop in San Luis Obispo. There’s hay rides, berry picking and goats!
Morro Bay is a quiet little beach town. You can visit Morro Rock at sunset and see sea otters in the wild
Call in at Linn’s of Cambria for the best pies. Cambria is charming and filled with cute boutiques
Hearst Castle in San Simeon is such a great stop. Book a tour to see the luxurious rooms and the famous pool
Let’s not forget the elephant seals in San Simeon! You can watch these guys play around...or just sleep
Heading further up the coast, McWay Falls is a photographer’s dream. Try and time your visit for early morning or late afternoon
A gorgeous sunset and dinner spot is Nepenthe. This restaurant has dreamy views and outdoor fires
A must see spot on this roadtrip is Bixby Bridge. There’s places to pull over and admire it, on either side
Pfeiffer Beach has these cool sea caves. You do have to pay to use the beach but it was worth it
And finally, cute Carmel By the Sea. I ended my coastal road trip here! I hope this gives you some ideas for planning
