Natto Cheese Toast (Japanese fermented soybeans recipe)
2 slices White bread 1 Natto(50g/1.8oz) (use the attached natto sauce) 1/4 Cabbage Shredded cheese Salt and pepper to taste Pepper, aonori for topping
Shred cabbage: Divide a cabbage into 4 pieces, remove the stem and shred it. (We only use one-fourth of cabbage)
Stir fry cabbage: Add some oil(1 Tbsp) to a frying pan, stir fry the cabbage over medium heat.
Stir fry cabbage: Season with salt and pepper when tender.
Open the natto pack, add the natto sauce and karashi (Japanese mustard) and mix.
Combine ingredients: Place the cabbage, natto, and cheese on the bread.
Toast: Toast in a toaster oven (I use a fish grill) until it turns brown (about 5-7 minutes). And top with aonori (green laver) or pepper if you like.
