Old-Fashioned Granny Cake
Combine 20-oz can of crushed pineapple, 2 eggs, 1/2 tsp vanilla extract, 2 cups flour, 1 cup sugar, 1 tsp baking soda, 3/4 tsp salt in mixing bowl.
1
Stir to combine, then spread batter in prepared pan.
2
In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup chopped pecans.
3
Sprinkle over the batter. Bake at 350F for 25-30 minutes.
4
Meanwhile, combine 1/2 cup evaporated milk, 1/2 cup butter, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1/2 tsp vanilla extract in a saucepan over medium heat.
5
Stirring occasionally, heat until butter melts and sugar dissolves.
6
Now it’s ready!
7
Pull the cake out of the oven.
8
Pour the glaze over the warm cake.
9
Let sit for at least 30 minutes. The glaze will continue to soak in and crystallize as it cools.
10
Serve and enjoy! This makes a great dessert or even a sweet breakfast!
