Brown wood rocking chair. Ready for a makeover!
1
Clean well with WHITE LIGHTNING. This step is important. Cleaning allows your paint to adhere well.
2
Dried Sage for a update! Paint on two even coats of paint cover all wood.
3
Keep a damp brush to help minimize brush strokes.
4
This will require two coats of paint.
5
Sand back edges to distress the chair and look worn.
6
Let’s apply a transfer. This is a rub on image. I cut the pieces and apply to the painted area.
7
Cut out image. Lay down and burnish with the tool.
8
After it’s been burnished down, remove the plastic backing.
9
I placed this transfer on the seat, back and front.
10
I sealed the entire chair in Best Dang Wax in Clear.
11
Using Best Dang Wax in Brown I applied to the edges to age. Wiped back to blend into the Sage.
12
Adding a touch of Warm Gold Gilding Wax to the edges to highlight them.
13
Completed! What a pretty update!
14
A neutral color palette to fit in any decor.
