Sand and prep your cup. Base ombré with your spray paints. Let thoroughly dry before next step.
1
Mix your resin, making sure to scrape the sides to get it mixed thoroughly.
2
Add approximately 5ml total to your base once it has completely dried. Typically 36 hours.
3
After applying resin I quickly hit it with a torch to pop any bubbles and help smooth the layer.
4
Add your darkest glitter first. As I move up from the base I hold my glitter farther away.
5
Next I add my opal glitter starting at the top and working my way down the cup.
6
After applying the opal I add a bit more of my gold mix letting it drop farther into the blue area.
7
Last I will go through again with my opal to help blend and make sure no spots were missed.
8
Wait approx 2 hours for this layer to cure then you’re ready for a coat of Artist Resin.
9
After layer is cured mix 12 ml each part of resin. Stir thoroughly to get it all mixed together.
10
Once mixed apply to your tumbler then quickly hit it with a torch to pop any bubbles.
11
Mix in one drop of AA to your remaining resin (approx 2-5ml). The mix should be a bit translucent.
12
Heat resin with a heat gun. Then hit each wave pretty close to spread the AA and get movement.
13
Add another drop of AA to what is left of the resin you just used to add another layer of waves.
14
Hit again with your heat gun focusing only on the waves you just added.
15
Adding two layers helps you create depth. Once cured add a final coat and your beach is complete.
