Philadelphia: A Guide To The Museum Corridor
Philly is very walkable and has great museums. Here's a guide for a stroll along the historic Benjamin Franklin Parkway!
This walking tour of the museum corridor is 1.5 miles long.
Start at City Hall (1400 JFK Blvd) . This stunningly ornate building is an architectural treasure!
Continue to Love Park, located at 15th and JFK Blv. Then walk in the NW direction on Benjamin Franklin Parkway to the Amor sign in Logan Square.
The path is filled with public art and sculptures. Franklin Institute Science Museum is located at 20th Street.
Continue NW on the parkway to The Barnes Foundation, an extraordinary museum with exhibits of impressionism.
The next building is The Rodin Museum. It has the largest collection of Auguste Rodin's sculptures outside of Paris, France.
The last large building on the left is The Philadelphia Museum of Art. Stop to see the statute of Rocky Balboa.
Run up the "Rocky Stairs" if you dare. At the top, you can step into Rocky's footprints and have your moment of victory. "Yo Adrian, I did it!" 😊
From here, you'll have sweeping views of the Washington Monument Fountain and the city of Brotherly Love!
TIP: If you plan to tour the Museum of Art, I recommend a taxi or an Uber in lieu of the 30 minute walk, it's massive! πŸ˜ŠπŸšΆπŸ½β€β™€οΈ
