Prep And Stencil A Wood Board In 5 Easy Steps
Supplies: wood board, acrylic paint, furniture wax, stencil, chalk paste, squeegee, sealer.

Paint the entire surface with acrylic paint lighter colors may take 2 coats. Paint the back if desired. Allow to dry completely.

Apply a wax for furniture or painted surfaces with your hand or a brush. Buff with paper towel or rag thoroughly. Or spray with sealer. Allow to dry.

Fuzz the stencil with a tacky cloth or low lint towel several times. Determine placement. Apply stencil and smooth out any bubbles.

Use a squeegee to apply chalk paste to open silk screened areas of the stencil. Remove excess. Carefully lift stencil and reapply as needed.

Seal the piece to make the chalk paste permanent. Apply 2 coats of clear sealer, chose matte or semi-gloss. Dry between coats.
