Punjabi Chikkar Chholay
Dry Roast Cumin, Coriander and Blackpepper corns. Grind into a fine powder. Keep aside

In a pot, heat oil, add finely sliced onions

Saute’ till pink, add freshly minced garlic and ginger. Saute another 5 mins

Add soaked masoor daal

Add salt, chilli pwd, turmeric, cumin pwd, coriander pwd and amchoor pwd

Add boiled chickpeas and enough water to cook. Let it simmer on low heat till tender and thickens

Add the masala made at beginning, mix and let it simmer for 5 mins

Enjoy the most delicious chikkar chholay with roti, naan or paratha!
