Sewing Hack: Adding Thumbholes to Cuffs
Lay fabric wrong side up.
1
Mark & measure thumbhole placement, leaving enough space for your seam allowance.
2
Fold cuff in half with wrong sides together and pin.
3
Sew, leaving the thumbhole space open. Backstitch at the beginning and end of each seam.
4
Fold cuff in half with wrong sides together, aligning thumbholes.
5
Hand sew thumbholes closed using a ladder (invisible) stitch.
6
Sew cuff to sleeve as directed by your pattern.
7
And voila! You now have cuffs with thumbholes to keep your hands cozy and warm!
