Sewing Hack: Adding Thumbholes to Cuffs
Lay fabric wrong side up.
Mark & measure thumbhole placement, leaving enough space for your seam allowance.
Fold cuff in half with wrong sides together and pin.
Sew, leaving the thumbhole space open. Backstitch at the beginning and end of each seam.
Fold cuff in half with wrong sides together, aligning thumbholes.
Hand sew thumbholes closed using a ladder (invisible) stitch.
Sew cuff to sleeve as directed by your pattern.
And voila! You now have cuffs with thumbholes to keep your hands cozy and warm!
