Add softened butter and sugar into a bowl

And mix until light and fluffy

Scraping down the sides and then mixing in the almond extract

In a separate bowl whisk together the flour & the salt & then mix it in to the butter sugar mixture

Reserve 1/2 cup and place in the freezer while you prep the rest of the tart

Press the rest of the dough into the tart pan

If the dough gets a little sticky feel free to stick it in the fridge for a couple of minutes

Spread the jam out over the tart

Crumble the rest of the dough over the jam

Then sprinkle over with sliced almonds

And bake until golden

Allow to cool and then slice and enjoy
