Simple Cactus Paintings
Water soluble markers, I used Crayola. Drawing paper, pencil, brush, water.

We are using our hands to start our drawing of a saguaro cactus.

Extend lines down the paper, tapering a bit. Add bottom. Add desert horizon line and mountains.

Use green marker to outline cactus. Now add vertical ridges.

Add brown, orange on mountains

Color in dessert with yellow. Add some brown dots.

Use a wet brush to spread color for a watercolor look.

Add tiny lines or dots along edge of cactus

Add a critter to desert...a bug, snake or scorpion.

How to draw a prickly pear cactus. Draw pot and horizontal line for edge of patio.

Prickly Pear cactus leaves are shaped like oval shaped disks.

Add yellow along edges of of each leaf.

Add green around outline. Add “v” shaped marks to indicate spines. Start coloring the pot.

Make a striped pattern on pot. I used orange, red and pink. Choose your own colors.

Spread colors with wet brush.

How to draw a ball cactus. Start with pot.

Draw a horizontal line for the patio. Draw ball shape in pot. Draw curved line on top.

Add your lines on cactus. Only line in middle is straight, all other lines are curved.

Add color! Yellow and green on cactus.

Try some zigzag patterns.

Add water with brush.

Add some lines to make it look like a cactus.
