Slow Cooker Dutch Erwtensoep (Split Pea Soup)
Add 3/4 cup chopped thick cut bacon

1 1/2 cups green split peas

1 cup chopped celery root

2 large carrots, sliced (or diced)

3/4 cup diced onions

1 large potato, diced

1 cup diced ham & 3 bay leaves

3 cups chicken stock & 3 cups water

Cook for at least 4 hours on high

Stir, add 16 ounces chopped Polska kielbasa and allow to sit for 15-20 minutes before serving. It will thicken as it sits.

Enjoy! It is said to be best when you can stand a spoon straight up in your bowl.
