Small Batch Atte ka Halwa
What you'll need
3 tbsp
Ghee
1/4 cup
Wheat Flour
1/4 cup
Sugar
1 cup
Water
Warm ghee on medium heat.
1
Add whole wheat flour to ghee.
2
Mix well, allowing flour to roast on medium heat.
3
The flour will start soaking up the ghee as it bubbles away and becomes darker.
4
As it roasts the color and flavor will develop. This process will take 7-8 minutes on medium heat.
5
Once it’s a deep amber color, heat the sugar and water in a separate pan until the sugar dissolves.
6
Add the hot sugar water to the flour mixture and mix to ensure no lumps form.
7
Allow everything to come together before turning off the heat.
8
Enjoy a bowl of warm, comforting Atte ka Halwa.
