Snake plants are native to West Africa and about 70 different species exist!
Snake plants are sold as low light plants in stores but will grow very slowly if given low light.
They actually thrive in bright indirect light, as shown here and will grow a lot faster in such.
But don't put them in direct light or they will get burn spots on their leaves.
Water only when the soil is bone dry, about twice a month in the summer, even less in winter.
Keep in mind, smaller pots will need more frequent waterings.
Snake plants are hardy. They do well in regular potting soil and like a well draining pot.
Overwatering will create rot! Despite this, the plant is still growing new leaves.
