Combine flour, spices, baking soda and salt in a bowl.
In a separate bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
Add egg and molasses and mix to combine.
Mix the dry ingredients into the creamed ingredients until a soft cookie dough forms.
Shape into balls by the tablespoon and roll in sugar. Place on baking sheets and freeze for 20mins before baking.
