6 Steps To Prepare Fabric For Happier Cross Stitch
Plan your Finished Project. Know what you want to do with your project when you’re done stitching it.
1
Wash your hands! It helps keep your fabric clean while you stitch.
2
Cut your fabric to the right size. Start with your stitching space, which is provided with your pattern. Then add room for framing.
3
Prevent your fabric from fraying. You can sew it, or use no-sew methods like pinking shears, masking tape or fabric glue.
4
Find the center of your fabric and start stitching there. This makes framing a breeze when you’re done.
5
Place your fabric in an embroidery hoop. Beginner stitchers find that taut fabric makes it easier to cross stitch.
6
There’s more you can do like using a grime guard or gridding.
