The Best Sticky Toffee Pudding
Bring water to a boil.

Add dates and baking soda to a bowl.

Top with boiling water. Let sit to cool.

Make the toffee sauce by combining the butter, brown sugar and cream in a saucepan.

Bring to a boil for 5 minutes.

To make the cake: add butter and brown sugar to a stand mixer and mix to cream (about 1 minute).

Add the vanilla and egg.

Add the date mixture and mix to combine.

Add the flour and baking powder and mix to combine.

Heavily grease ramekins or a lined springform pan with butter. Add half the sauce to the ramekins.

Add the batter to the ramekins filling about 3/4 of the way up. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.

Remove from the oven.

Let cool for only 1 minute.

Quickly invert the ramekins onto your serving plate.

Drizzle with extra sauce.
