The Best Stops To Make In Monument Valley
Right here at the Monument Valley Visitor Centre is where you’ll find the classic view of the valley
1
If you have time, pick a few small trails to walk. The Wildcat trail was flat and easy
2
I wanted to get up close with the rocks and this hike was perfect for that
John Ford point is another of those famous spots. Complete with a horse for your photo op pleasure (yes the horse gets breaks!)
3
The North Window overlook and hike was one of my favourite things in MV. I wish I’d stuck around for sunset
4
All along the 17 mile scenic road that goes through MV, you’ll get great views. It’s best to have a high clearance vehicle but not necessary
5
Make sure to check out Camel Butte on your drive. It’s best to have a list of the stops you want to make so you don’t miss them
6
One of the most rewarding things I did while in MV was take a tour with Navajo Spirit Tours
7
We were able to go to sacred places which are not accessible without a guide. It was so interesting to hear about the culture and history of the area
Sunset at Artist Point was stunning and well worth a stop
8
And just outside MV, you can’t miss running up and down the road at Forest Gump Point like in the movie!
9
Respect this sacred land when you visit. Covid has closed the park for the time being but hopefully will open again soon!
