The 7 Principles of Leave No Trace: Vasquez Rocks
Created by the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics, these 7 Principles ensure that hikers can enjoy our land in the most responsible way.
The 7 Principles are:
Plan Ahead and Prepare. Map your route, check the weather, pack accordingly. Vasquez Rocks are often quite warm, so bring loads of water.
1
Travel and Camp on Durable Surfaces. Think designated trails and rock surfaces.
2
Dispose of Waste Properly. Anything you pack in must be packed right back out, from snacks to sunscreen to water bottles.
3
Leave What you Find. Don't pick wildflowers or touch artifacts along the trails.
4
Minimize Campfire Impacts. Follow local fire regulations (in this case, you need to obtain a permit beforehand).
5
Respect Wildlife. As curious as you may be, enjoy the wild animals from a safe distance.
6
Be Considerate of Others. You are likely to pass other hikers here, so no loud music or voices. Ensure that others can enjoy nature in peace.
7
Overall, these 7 Principles of Leave No Trace are all about respect. Respecting nature, respecting wildlife, and respecting other humans.
Let's preserve the land so that we can all enjoy nature together for a long time forward! Check out the blog for more. ♡
