Find local stores filled with treats and goodies, like Hansel & Gretels Candy Kitchen.
Hike to one of Georgia’s tallest waterfalls, Anna Ruby Falls (short, fully paved, great for all abilities) and maybe spot a furry friend!
Or hike a little longer, on a quieter trail to Dukes Creek Falls.
Float the Chattahoochee River during the summer! We recommend renting tubes through the Cool River Tubing Company.
Great for all ages, shallow/lazy river, with a few small “rapids” along the way. Recommend: water shoes & pushing stick.
Go mini golfing! The views from the Bavarian Mountain Miniature Golf course are spectacular! You might even see a hot air balloon from up there.
Visit in June for the Helen to the Atlantic Balloon Race and Festival, and see the balloons up close!
Watch as they put up, lift off, and land the balloons. You can even take a ride!
Explore Unicoi Hill Park, with a walking path, waterfall, playground and more!
Eat at a local favorite, The Troll Tavern. American and German style food, with outdoor seating along the river, located under the bridge!
Be transported to Germany and the Alps at Charlemagne’s Kingdom, home to a 50 foot exhibit with miniature trains and scenery.
Eat lunch or grab a treat from Hofer’s Bakery & Cafe. We recommend the Eclairs!
Visit Helen during the Christmas season to see the entire town decked out in lights and holiday decor.
