12 Things To Do In The Bavarian Styled Helen, Georgia
Wander the streets of this adorable town easily by foot. Shop, eat, and explore!
1
Find local stores filled with treats and goodies, like Hansel & Gretels Candy Kitchen.
2
Hike to one of Georgia’s tallest waterfalls, Anna Ruby Falls (short, fully paved, great for all abilities) and maybe spot a furry friend!
3
Or hike a little longer, on a quieter trail to Dukes Creek Falls.
4
Float the Chattahoochee River during the summer! We recommend renting tubes through the Cool River Tubing Company.
5
Great for all ages, shallow/lazy river, with a few small “rapids” along the way. Recommend: water shoes & pushing stick.
Go mini golfing! The views from the Bavarian Mountain Miniature Golf course are spectacular! You might even see a hot air balloon from up there.
6
Visit in June for the Helen to the Atlantic Balloon Race and Festival, and see the balloons up close!
7
Watch as they put up, lift off, and land the balloons. You can even take a ride!
Explore Unicoi Hill Park, with a walking path, waterfall, playground and more!
8
Eat at a local favorite, The Troll Tavern. American and German style food, with outdoor seating along the river, located under the bridge!
9
Be transported to Germany and the Alps at Charlemagne’s Kingdom, home to a 50 foot exhibit with miniature trains and scenery.
10
Eat lunch or grab a treat from Hofer’s Bakery & Cafe. We recommend the Eclairs!
